Thyroid hormone is very much useful to our health in controlling the burning of calories and proteins. And this hormone is produced by our thyroid gland. By over dieting one may make the hormone secretion rate lower and thus the calories might remain unburned. Consequently body metabolism rate drops down which in turn cause weakness and sickness. To be added, in the time of losing weight one’s metabolism rate should be increased but over dieting may cause otherwise.

Decreasing the level of testosterone

Testosterone is used to preserve strength of the muscles. A perfect amount of testosterone helps to burn fats of your body. Besides it helps to demolish the accumulated fat by enhancing the beta receptors. Furthermore, testosterone aids to seize lipoprotein lipase, an enzyme which soaks up fat from blood.

Weakening of immune system

For proper functioning of immune system our body needs calorie. Over-dieting results in drastic fall in calorie supply that weakens our immune system and weak immune system facilitates the secretion of cortisol hormone which store fats in our body. Due to a weakened immune system one may have to embrace the illness.

Wooziness may attack

By not taking regular food you make your body withdrawn from proper nourishment. The whole body may be stacked. The power of working will be reduced. Sometimes over-dieting may cause some serious illness such as stomach ulcer which is unalterable.

Muscle mass may be reduced

At one part of dieting if the carbohydrates and fats are finished proteins become the main source of nutrition. In the long run body starts to use muscle proteins in place of the fats and carbohydrates and ultimately muscle mass reduces.

Psychological effect

It is seen that after losing weights through a tough dieting people want to regain their lost weights very quickly. It happens because one’s body cannot cope with the sudden change that happened so roughly.
